Estate agent Suzy Lamplugh vanished after leaving her office to meet a client called 'Mr. Kipper' at a property in Fulham, London. Her body has never been found. She was officially declared dead in 1994. Convicted serial rapist John Cannan is the prime suspect.

On Monday, July 28, 1986, 25-year-old Suzy Lamplugh, an estate agent working for Sturgis & Sons in Fulham, southwest London, left her office at lunchtime to meet a client she had noted in her diary as 'Mr. Kipper' for a 12:45 p.m. appointment to show a property at 37 Shorrolds Road. She never returned to the office and was never seen again.

Her white Ford Fiesta was found abandoned about a mile from the property later that day, parked awkwardly with the handbrake off and her purse still inside. The keys were missing. The property at 37 Shorrolds Road showed no signs of disturbance. Despite a massive search operation involving hundreds of officers, sniffer dogs, and divers searching the Thames, no trace of Suzy was found.

The prime suspect in the case is John Cannan, a convicted rapist and murderer who was released from a hostel in the Fulham area just days before Suzy's disappearance. Fellow inmates reportedly knew him by the nickname 'Kipper.' Cannan was convicted in 1989 of the murder of Shirley Banks in Bristol, and police believe he was responsible for Suzy's abduction and likely murder. However, despite extensive investigation—including a 2018 excavation of a property in Worcestershire—insufficient evidence has been found to charge him.

Suzy Lamplugh was officially declared dead, presumed murdered, in 1994. Her mother Diana founded the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, which became a leading personal safety charity in the UK. The trust's work led to significant changes in estate agency safety practices, including lone worker protection policies. The case remains officially open with the Metropolitan Police.
