Andrew Gosden
Fourteen-year-old Andrew Gosden skipped school, withdrew £200 from his bank account, and took a train from Doncaster to London's King's Cross station. He was captured on CCTV leaving the station and has never been seen since.
On the morning of Friday, September 14, 2007, fourteen-year-old Andrew Gosden of Doncaster, South Yorkshire left his home wearing his school uniform as if heading to McAuley Catholic High School. Instead, he changed out of his uniform, walked to a cash machine where he withdrew £200—his entire savings—and then walked to Doncaster railway station, where he purchased a one-way ticket to London King's Cross. Notably, a return ticket would have cost only 50p more, but Andrew chose one-way.
CCTV footage showed Andrew arriving at King's Cross station at approximately 11:25 a.m. and leaving through the main exit. This is the last confirmed sighting of him. He was carrying a black messenger bag and wearing a Slipknot T-shirt and black jeans. He left behind his passport, his PSP charger (though he took the PSP), and showed no previous signs of being in distress or planning to run away.
Andrew was an exceptionally bright, quiet teenager who was described by teachers as gifted in mathematics. He had no known online presence—no email, no social media accounts, no mobile phone. This absence of a digital footprint has made the investigation exceptionally difficult, as there are no electronic records to trace his movements or communications after he left King's Cross.
In 2021, two men were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and human trafficking in connection with Andrew's disappearance, but both were released without charge. Andrew's parents, Kevin and Glenys Gosden, have campaigned tirelessly, keeping the case in public view through media appearances and the Missing People charity. The reason Andrew went to London and what happened to him after he left King's Cross remain completely unknown.
