Three-year-old Lina Sardar Khil, a daughter of Afghan refugees, vanished from a playground at a San Antonio apartment complex. Despite massive searches, she has never been found.

On December 20, 2021, three-year-old Lina Sardar Khil was playing on a playground at the Villas del Cabo apartment complex on the northwest side of San Antonio, Texas. Her mother was supervising from a short distance away. When the mother looked back, Lina was gone.

Lina's family are Afghan refugees who had recently resettled in San Antonio. The language barrier complicated the initial investigation. An Amber Alert was issued, and massive ground and aerial searches of the surrounding area were conducted.

San Antonio police reviewed extensive surveillance footage from the apartment complex. The FBI joined the investigation. Despite appeals in multiple languages to the diverse community in the area, no witnesses to Lina's disappearance have come forward.

Lina Sardar Khil has never been found. Her case remains one of San Antonio's most active missing children investigations. The apartment complex has since been demolished.
