Moors Murders Victims
Ian Brady and Myra Hindley murdered five children in Manchester, England, burying some on Saddleworth Moor. Keith Bennett's body has never been found. The case remains one of Britain's most notorious.
Between July 1963 and October 1965, Ian Brady and Myra Hindley kidnapped and murdered five children aged 10 to 17 in the Manchester area. They buried at least three victims on Saddleworth Moor.
The victims were Pauline Reade (16), John Kilbride (12), Keith Bennett (12), Lesley Ann Downey (10), and Edward Evans (17). Brady and Hindley sexually assaulted their victims and audio-recorded Lesley Ann pleading for her life.
They were caught after Evans's murder when Hindley's brother-in-law witnessed the killing and alerted police. Brady and Hindley were convicted in May 1966.
Brady died in prison in 2017; Hindley died in 2002. Despite extensive searches over decades, the body of Keith Bennett has never been found, causing ongoing anguish for his family.
