Haleigh Cummings
Five-year-old Haleigh Cummings vanished from her father's mobile home in Satsuma, Florida. Her father's girlfriend Misty Croslin was babysitting. No one has been charged.
On February 9, 2009, five-year-old Haleigh Cummings was reported missing from her father Ronald Cummings's mobile home in Satsuma, a rural community in Putnam County, Florida. Ronald's 17-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin, was babysitting Haleigh and her younger brother when she said she woke up and found Haleigh gone.
Misty told police she had put Haleigh to bed and then gone to sleep herself. When she woke up around 3 a.m., the back door was propped open and Haleigh was missing. Her account contained inconsistencies that changed over time.
The investigation was hampered by the chaotic personal lives of those involved. Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin married shortly after the disappearance but later divorced. Both were subsequently arrested on drug trafficking charges unrelated to Haleigh's case.
Despite extensive searches of the surrounding area, including the St. Johns River, Haleigh has never been found. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
