Nicole Morin
Eight-year-old Nicole Morin disappeared from the hallway of her Toronto apartment building while on her way to the swimming pool. She has never been found.
On July 30, 1985, eight-year-old Nicole Louise Morin left her family's apartment on the 19th floor of a high-rise building at 95 The West Mall in Etobicoke, Toronto. She was heading down to the lobby to meet a friend and walk to the building's outdoor swimming pool. She never arrived.
Nicole was last seen by her mother as she left the apartment at approximately 10:15 a.m. She was wearing her bathing suit under her clothes and carrying a white towel. Surveillance in the building was minimal, and no witnesses saw Nicole after she left the apartment.
The Toronto Police Service launched an extensive investigation, canvassing the building's residents and searching the building and surrounding area. The case generated thousands of tips over the years, but none led to Nicole's recovery.
The case remains one of Toronto's most baffling missing child cases. How Nicole vanished from a busy apartment building in broad daylight has never been explained. Her case has been periodically reviewed by Toronto Police with modern investigative techniques, and age-progressed images have been released to keep the public aware.
