Casey White (murder conviction)
Casey White was convicted of the 2015 capital murder of Connie Ridgeway in Lauderdale County, Alabama. He had confessed in 2020 while in jail and later escaped with corrections officer Vicky White.
Connie Ridgeway, 58, was found stabbed to death in her Lauderdale County, Alabama apartment on October 23, 2015. The case went cold for several years.
In 2020, while Casey White was serving a 75-year sentence for other crimes, he confessed to an inmate that he had killed Ridgeway as a murder-for-hire. He was charged with capital murder.
While awaiting trial for Ridgeway's murder, White engineered an escape from jail with the help of corrections officer Vicky White in April 2022. They were fugitives for 11 days before being caught in Indiana.
Casey White was convicted of capital murder for Ridgeway's death and sentenced to life without parole.
