Joel Guy Jr. murdered his parents over Thanksgiving weekend and dismembered them, dissolving body parts in acid. He was motivated by wanting to keep receiving financial support from them.

Over Thanksgiving weekend 2016, Joel Guy Jr., 28, murdered both of his parents, Joel Sr. and Lisa Guy, at their home in West Knox County, Tennessee. His parents had planned to cut him off financially.

Guy stabbed both parents to death, then spent days dismembering their bodies. He placed body parts in containers of corrosive chemicals in an attempt to dissolve the remains. He also tried to destroy evidence by removing sections of carpet.

When police conducted a welfare check days later after concerned coworkers reported Lisa missing, they found the gruesome scene. Investigators also found Guy's handwritten notes detailing his murder plan, including 'get kill suit' and 'clean up mess.'

Joel Guy Jr. was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse in 2020. He was sentenced to two consecutive life terms without parole.
