Anthonette Cayedito
Nine-year-old Anthonette Cayedito was taken from her home in Gallup, New Mexico after answering a knock at the door late at night. A girl matching her description called 911 years later.
On April 6, 1986, nine-year-old Anthonette Christine Cayedito answered a knock at the door of her family's home in Gallup, New Mexico around 3 a.m. Her younger sister Seneca witnessed a man and woman grab Anthonette and force her into a brown van.
Anthonette's mother Penny was asleep at the time and did not realize her daughter was missing until later. Questions about the household circumstances delayed the initial investigation.
In 1991, a girl called 911 from a pay phone in Carson City, Nevada and said 'I'm Anthonette Cayedito' before being cut off. In a separate incident, a waitress at a restaurant reported a girl writing 'help me' on a napkin who matched Anthonette's description.
Despite these leads, Anthonette has never been found. The case remains one of New Mexico's most prominent cold cases.
