On January 4, 2019, twenty-two-year-old Savannah Spurlock, a mother of four, was last seen on surveillance footage leaving a Lexington, Kentucky bar with three men. She never returned home.
Five months later, on June 11, 2019, Savannah's remains were found buried in a shallow grave at a property in Garrard County belonging to the family of David Sparks, one of the three men seen with her that night.
Sparks initially denied involvement. Evidence showed that Savannah had gone to Sparks's home willingly, but investigators determined she was killed there.
David Sparks pleaded guilty to murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse in 2021. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
