Twenty-year-old Heather Elvis vanished from a boat landing in Myrtle Beach. The married couple she had been involved with, Sidney and Tammy Moorer, were convicted of kidnapping.

On December 18, 2013, twenty-year-old Heather Elvis left her apartment in Conway, South Carolina, in the early morning hours and drove to the Peachtree Boat Landing along the Intracoastal Waterway near Myrtle Beach. Her car was found at the boat landing with her personal belongings inside. Heather was never seen again.

The investigation revealed Heather had been having an affair with Sidney Moorer, a married man. When Sidney's wife Tammy discovered the affair, she confronted Heather and allegedly threatened her. Phone records showed Sidney called Heather shortly before she drove to the boat landing.

Sidney and Tammy Moorer were arrested and charged with kidnapping and murder. Phone records, GPS data, and surveillance footage placed them near the boat landing on the night Heather disappeared. Despite the evidence, prosecutors were unable to locate Heather's body.

Tammy Moorer was convicted of kidnapping and conspiracy in 2019 and sentenced to 30 years. Sidney Moorer was convicted of kidnapping in a separate trial. Without a body, the murder charges remain pending.
