Keddie Murders
Three people were bludgeoned and stabbed in cabin 28 at the Keddie Resort in rural Northern California. A fourth victim, a 12-year-old girl, was also murdered. The case has never been solved.
On April 12, 1981, the bodies of Glenna Sharp (36), her son John (15), and his friend Dana Wingate (17) were discovered in cabin 28 at the Keddie Resort in rural Plumas County, California. They had been bound, bludgeoned with a hammer, and stabbed with a steak knife and a butter knife.
Glenna's daughter Tina Sharp, 12, was missing from the scene. Two other children who had been sleeping in the cabin were unharmed. Tina's skull was found three years later in a neighboring county, confirming she had also been murdered.
Despite extensive investigation, the case went cold. In 2016, the Plumas County Sheriff's Office announced a renewed investigation. DNA evidence was tested using modern techniques, and two suspects were identified: Martin Smartt and John 'Bo' Boubede, both of whom had been staying in a neighboring cabin. Both men had died before the renewed investigation.
Cabin 28 was demolished in 2004. The case remains one of California's most notorious unsolved mass murders.
