Aliayah Paige Lunsford, a 3-year-old girl, was reported missing on September 24, 2011, from her home in Weston, West Virginia. Her mother, Lena Lunsford, was convicted of murdering the child in 2018, but Aliayah's body has never been recovered.

Aliayah Paige Lunsford was a three-year-old girl living in Weston, in Lewis County, West Virginia. On the evening of September 23, 2011, she was said to be sick with flu-like symptoms, including vomiting. According to her mother, Lena Marie Lunsford, Aliayah was asleep in bed when she checked on her at 6:30 the next morning, September 24, but was gone when she checked again around 9:00 a.m.

Lena did not report Aliayah missing until about 11:30 a.m., roughly five hours after the child was said to have last been seen and more than two hours after Lena claimed to have realized she was gone. There were no signs of forced entry to the home. An extensive search of the surrounding area, including a nearby river, turned up no trace of the little girl, and a large volunteer and law-enforcement effort followed in the days and weeks afterward.

From early on, inconsistencies in the family's account drew scrutiny to Lena Lunsford's story of an overnight abduction. Investigators came to believe there had been no kidnapping at all. In November 2016, more than five years after Aliayah disappeared, Lena was arrested at her home in St. Petersburg, Florida, and charged in connection with the child's death, accused of fabricating the kidnapping story and concealing evidence.

Lena Lunsford's trial began in April 2018. Testimony from Aliayah's older sisters described how their mother had struck Aliayah in the head with a wooden bed slat, after which the toddler became unresponsive and was never given medical care. Prosecutors argued the child died from her injuries around September 23, 2011, and that her body was then disposed of. In April 2018 a jury convicted Lena of murder of a child by a parent, along with related child-abuse and false-report charges, and she was sentenced to life in prison plus additional years.

Despite the conviction, Aliayah Lunsford's body has never been recovered, and she remains listed as a missing person even though authorities believe she was killed. Her mother's appeals of the conviction have been pursued in the years since. The case stands as one in which a perpetrator was tried and convicted while the victim herself was never found, leaving the recovery of Aliayah's remains as the outstanding question.
