Tristan Brübach
Thirteen-year-old Tristan Brübach was brutally murdered in an underground pedestrian passage in Frankfurt, Germany. The case remains one of Germany's most notorious unsolved child murders.
On March 26, 1998, thirteen-year-old Tristan Brübach was found murdered in a pedestrian underpass beneath a railway line in the Liederbach area of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He had been brutally beaten and mutilated.
The crime scene suggested a highly violent attack. Tristan had been on his way home from school when he was attacked. Despite witnesses in the area, no one reported seeing the attack or the perpetrator.
The investigation was one of the largest in Hessen police history. DNA evidence was collected from the scene, and thousands of individuals were tested over the years. Several suspects were investigated but cleared.
The case remains unsolved and is regularly featured in German true crime media. Frankfurt police continue to pursue leads and have periodically made public appeals for information.
