Fotis Dulos, charged with the murder of his wife Jennifer, attempted suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning in his garage while awaiting trial. He died two days later without ever standing trial.
On January 28, 2020, Fotis Dulos was found in his running car in the garage of his Farmington, Connecticut home with the garage door closed. He was in cardiac arrest from carbon monoxide poisoning.
He was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support but never regained consciousness. He was pronounced dead on January 30, 2020—just hours before a court hearing where prosecutors planned to increase his bond.
Fotis had been charged with murder, kidnapping, and other charges in the May 2019 disappearance and presumed death of his estranged wife Jennifer Dulos. He had maintained his innocence.
His death meant he never stood trial. The case against his co-conspirators continued, with Michelle Troconis eventually convicted of conspiracy to commit murder in 2024.
