Princess Doe
An unidentified teenage girl was found bludgeoned to death in a Blairstown, New Jersey cemetery. Known as 'Princess Doe,' she has never been identified despite decades of investigation.
On July 15, 1982, the body of an unidentified teenage girl was found in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Blairstown, New Jersey. She had been bludgeoned to death with a rock and her face was severely disfigured, making visual identification impossible.
The girl, estimated to be between 14 and 18 years old, was given the name 'Princess Doe' by investigators. Despite widespread publicity and comparison to missing persons databases, she has never been identified.
In 1983, a man named Arthur Kinlaw was indicted for her murder based on witness testimony, but the charges were later dropped due to insufficient evidence. The identity of Princess Doe and her killer remain unknown.
The case was one of the earliest to be entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs). DNA profiles and isotope analysis have been conducted, but no match has been found. Princess Doe has become a symbol for all unidentified crime victims.
